Visual Stimulation is the street photography blog of acclaimed Fresno City-based photographer Ruben Rocha. A lifelong Fresnian with a penchant for travel/street photography, Ruben’s style is best described as moody/urban//journalistic. He just calls himself a free lancer but a street photographer at heart.

Armed only with his trusty Sony a7ii and a variety of prime lenses, Ruben’s first love has always been street photography. He started his interest in late 2014, was inspired by others on instagram. He never did it for the intention of making money but once his friends started to see his quality, now they were asking how much he would charge them for x, y and z?

Knowing that others seen his potential in his photos and videos, He dabbled in many things learning through trial and error. Learning through other photographer friends and lots of YouTube tutorials. He put in the work and continues to finesse his craft. Ruben has done promo videos/photos for barbers and hair stylist to weddings to family shoots to headshots to video work for a boxing media outlet (The Fighters Voice, Ruben helped start it up during the first year recording and producing media content.) to mini documentaries to non-profit content. Now he puts his skills into helping out his church at North Point Community Church.

His dream job was to be a camera man for Anthony Bourdain (RIP) and travel the world with him. He would love to travel and document other countries and culture or working with a team and working on projects for media content. For now he is happy just being behind a camera and doing what he loves which is street photography and insta reels.

All photos on this site were taken by Ruben Rocha as he’s been out n’ about for his latest project, stay tuned.
